Successful FAT of DN 1600 Butterfly Valves for Major Infrastructure Project
A Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) was carried out for DN 1600 butterfly valves at a manufacturing facility in Anhui, China, as part of the project’s quality assurance and approval process. The visit focused on verifying valve performance, workmanship, and compliance with project specifications and applicable international standards prior to delivery. 20-09-2017
Representatives from SIO visited the manufacturing facility in Anhui, China, to attend the FAT for DN 1600 butterfly valves. The contractor for the project is Mutlaq Al-Ghowair Contracting Co.
During the visit, testing was carried out under operating conditions close to those expected on site. The focus was on hydraulic performance, coating quality and integrity, assembly, and overall compliance with the project requirements. Each testing stage was reviewed together with the client at the factory.
Throughout the visit and all testing stages, the delegation was accompanied by Business Development Engineer Ali Fthiy, who provided technical support and ensured alignment with the agreed specifications.
The butterfly valves are manufactured in accordance with European standards EN 593, EN 1074-1 / EN 1074-2, and EN 12266-1. The bodies are made of EN GJS-500-7 (GGG-50), with epoxy coating compliant with EN 14901 and EPDM sealing according to EN 681-1. All materials in contact with drinking water comply with WRAS requirements.
